Getting there
The Workshop is located in the Ang Mo Kio industrial district, within Techplace II, a large industrial facility just a 5-minute walk from the nearest bus stop.
The Workshop is conveniently accessible by bus from several MRT stations, including Bishan,Hougang, Sengkang, and Yio Chu Kang. The journey takes approximately 10-20 minutes, depending on the station.
This area is distinct for its low-rise buildings, offering a refreshing contrast to the towering skyscrapers of the CBD.
The white building diagonally ahead is Techplace II, a large industrial facility where The Workshop is located.
Arrive at The Workshop ― Ang Mo Kio
Techplace II comprises several buildings, each numbered for easy navigation.
As you walk through, you’ll notice the industrial atmosphere, with trucks, forklifts, and workers wearing helmets adding to the area’s character.
Building 5008 is where The Workshop is located.
Upon entering the building, take the elevator to the 4th floor to find The Workshop.
The reception is unmanned, so you’ll need a special card key to access the space.
Since today was a trial visit, the manager warmly welcomed me and handed me the card key upon arrival.
Note: The Workshop is not accessible from the freight elevators on the West Wing side.
The Workshop Overview
The Workshop is a unique shared office tailored for “industrial-related industries.”
Unlike typical shared offices, it offers specialized features like on-site warehouses.
The Workshop currently operates four locations in Singapore, with a fifth opening in September 2024, all situated in industrial areas just outside the city.

Coworking Area
The coworking area is spacious, offering a variety of seating options like semi-private booths, sofas, and tables for four. You can always find a corner that suits your needs.
The industrial vibe, thanks to the concrete-style ceiling, gives the place a modern yet spacious feel.
To ensure users don’t get lost in this spacious area, the layout is thoughtfully marked.

Additionally, this shared office offers a Parcels Drop Off space, which is perfect for using the delivery service or for users to easily hand over belongings to one another.
It’s a convenient feature for those who need to manage deliveries or exchanges within the office.
Pantry Area
The Workshop has not just one but two pantry areas!
They’re equipped with all the essentials—a coffee machine, tea bags, and a microwave—so you can fuel up any time you need.
Flexi Desk and Fixed Desk
Unlike typical shared offices where desks are arranged side-by-side, the desks here are lined up front to back, providing more space for movement.
I worked at one of the dedicated desks and found it super comfortable, even doing some light stretches during breaks.
With high partitions in place, you get a nice sense of privacy, making it easier to focus on your work.
Workpod / Makerpod
The workpods at The Workshop – Ang Mo Kio can accommodate teams of 1 to 20 people, making them suitable for companies of various sizes, from startups to SMEs.
The flexible layout allows you to adapt the space according to your team’s needs.
Warehouse Area and Packing Area
The attached warehouse area is truly unique, offering spaces in different sizes tailored to your cargo needs.
The warehouses are equipped with sensor-activated lighting, turning on when the door is opened and off when closed, adding convenience during busy operations.
And right next door is the packing area, fully equipped with everything you need to store, sort, and ship products smoothly.
As we were touring the warehouse, the sound of tape being stretched and applied continued, a clear sign of the busy, hands-on work happening there.
It’s a dream setup for e-commerce and manufacturing companies.
Meeting Room
The meeting rooms are versatile, ranging from small 4-person spaces to large event halls for up to 40 people.
With whiteboards, screens, and sensor-activated lights, these rooms are ready for anything, from internal meetings to client presentations.

Phone Booth
The phone booths at The Workshop – Ang Mo Kio are uniquely designed with seats facing the back.

Lastly, the Workshop also offers a Nursing Room and a Prayer Room, reflecting the inclusive nature of the workspace.
